To request a presentation at your school/organization, please email the VPs Engagement, Ted Gan and Chris Heit (engagement@carleton.ewb.ca)

In your presentation request email, please indicate:

  • Preferred date(s) and time(s)
  • Where you want the presentation to occur (e.g. your school, or Carleton’s campus)
  • The audience we will be presenting to (e.g. grade 9 geography class)
  • The topic you want us to present and discuss

EWB Carleton’s team consists of people from a wide variety of educational backgrounds and experience. Thus, we have expertise in nearly every aspect of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), global development (e.g. sustainability, environmental and energy policy, foreign aid, the economics of global development), and how these two interact, which is the central focus of EWB.

If you’re not sure what we should present on, our past presentation topics may inspire you. We have presented on topics such as:

  • Misconceptions about the engineering profession
  • Energy Sources and the Energy Poverty cycle
  • Water sustainability and renewable energy from scientific and policy points of view
  • Recent advancements in cellular biology
  • Careers in engineering and development

As you can see, we are passionate about linking STEM with global development.

Our presentations are not only highly informative, but they are also engaging, almost always including an interactive workshop, such as:

  • Designing a farming tool
  • Creating a water filtration system
  • Extracting DNA from a fruit
  • Simulation game of sustainability and poverty
